Obituary
August “Red” Engler (76), of Dunnellon, Florida, passed away at home on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Red was born in Trenton, New Jersey to August and May Engler on November 2, 1941. He was a very gifted bricklayer, a true master craftsman, and a man who was never afraid of hard work, even if it meant plowing half the town’s winter snow when he still lived up North. Red was also known as a prankster who was very fond of the music of Elvis Presley and who greatly loved old western movies. It goes almost without saying that Red will be greatly missed.
Red is predeceased by his father, August Engler; his mother, May Campbell (nee Clower, previously Engler); and by his siblings, Alice Hirst and Frank Engler.
He is survived by his loving wife, Audrey Engler; his son, Robert Engler; by his siblings, Richard Engler, Elizabeth Engler, Kathy Foster and John Engler; by his stepdaughter, Theresa Dunn and her husband, Allen; by his step-granddaughter, Kelly Mahoney and her husband, Jeff, and their daughter, Red’s step-great-granddaughter, Brielle; and by his beloved dog, Holly.
