Obituary

Barbara Ann (Rich) Vickers, 87, passed away October 18, 2020, as a result of a tired heart. She was born August 13, 1933, as the 4th child to Mike and Irene Rich (deceased) in Sandusky, Michigan. One older sister, Margery, and a brother, Bill, preceded her in death. An older sister, Virginia, and two younger sisters, Peggy and Ruthie, survive her, All in Michigan.

Barbara Ann Rich, married John W. Vickers, December 19, 1953, in Sandusky Michigan. They have four children, Suzanne, Paul and Alison, all of Cape Coral, FL., and David of Seattle, WA., who survive her. As well as, four grandchildren, Kayla and Ryan, of Springfield IL., Sydney and Ellie, of Seattle WA., and great grandson, Jaidyn, also of Springfield, IL.

After 13 years of marriage, Barbara consented to become a pastor’s wife when John entered seminary and the ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples). Avoiding leadership, Barbara Ann was instead a willing worker in the church always present when dishes needed to be done. She asked for little, gave much, and was known for her infectious laugh and radiant smile; always bringing fun times and joy around her.

She will be deeply missed and was dearly loved by her family and friends, A Memorial/Worship Service for Barbara Ann will be held at a future date to be determined, at the Fort Myers Church, 5916 Winkler Road, Fort Myers, FL., to be led by her pastor Rev. Zach Seitz. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Fort Myers Christian Church in her name.
