It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara Durham Hughes, a woman known for her generous spirit, sharp wit, and unwavering love for her family. Barbara was born on January 16, 1949, and transitioned out of this life surrounded by her loving family on October 28, 2025. After a long illness, she has found eternal rest among the angels. Her devoted husband of 57 years, David, and her beloved children, Leigh and Michael, were by her side in her final moments.
Born in Paris, Texas, Barbara built a life defined by dedication, kindness, and quiet strength. She worked for many years as an escrow officer for a title company, where her professionalism and warmth left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
Outside of work, Barbara found joy in golfing, playing cards, and traveling—always embracing new experiences and the friendships that came with them.
Barbara is survived by her husband, David; her children, Leigh and Michael; her grandchildren, Alec and Claire; her great-granddaughter, Remi; her brothers, Harvey and wife Xenia, and Andrew and wife Susan; and her sister-in-law, Mary. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She left this world in comfort and peace, surrounded by love—a reflection of the way she lived her life.
