Obituary

Barry Lee Napiecek passed away February 1, 2023, following a brief illness.  Born December 4, 1940, in Reading, PA, Barry was the eldest child of the late Chester and Ruth (Manley) Napiecek.  Barry was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Arline (Nasrallah/Frient) and cherished daughter, Kristin (Brian) Baadte and grandchildren Caroline, Kadryn and Braden Baadte. He is also survived by sister Judith (Philip) Fierro and brother Steve (Robin) Napiecek, step-sons Jeffrey (Jeni) Frient and Brian Frient and grandchildren:  Tyler (Claire), Amanda, Camille and Grayson Frient, Aleksandra and Camelin Carter and great-grandchildren Theodore, Clementine and Charlotte Frient.

Barry was predeceased by his late wife of 25 years, Carolyn Napiecek, and step-daughter, Susan Frient.  He was a 1962 graduate of St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, PA, was a Certified Public Accountant, served in the U.S. Army and then pursued a career in accounting and finance which took him from Philadelphia to Manhattan to Chicago.  Later he felt blessed and privileged to enjoy special retirement years in Longboat Key.  He filled his days with activity, service, travel, adventure, and joy.  He made many friends in Spanish Main Yacht Club, in the St. Mary’s church family and on LBK.  He will be held strongly in our hearts and dearly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial for Barry will be celebrated at St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church, 4280 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key, Florida. Date and time to follow.

It is so hard to realize how swiftly Barty slipped away. A wonderful man with a beautiful smile. He is missed. Fond memories together remain.
    God bless you Arline
