Obituary

Reverend Benigno Ramon Reyes transitioned from his earthly home into heaven, on Sunday, September 26. He was 96.

An army veteran of the World War II, he proudly served in the military as well as a civilian Federal government employee until his retirement in 1987.
He was married to Felicita Garcia Carmona for 48 years until she preceded him in death in 1991. Their marriage produced four children: Benigno Jr, Miriam (who preceded him in death in 2020) Johnny (who preceded him in death in 1991) and Priscilla. Recognizing a call to ministry, he graduated from the Church of God Bible Institute headquartered in Cleveland, Tennessee. He became a licensed minister serving in pastoral care ministry and counseling for over 30 years in Connecticut, New York, Puerto Rico, and Florida.
In 1995, he married Belen Pacheco and they took care of each other until she passed in 2010. Benigno is survived by his son, Benigno Jr, daughter, Priscilla, 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; and four brothers: Genaro, John, Hector, and Eliud. Benigno was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

God has called upon you to return to be by his side at this time. It is natural your family feel the pain of the loss of not seeing you but I believe you'll forever be in their hearts and memories. Today I pray to the Lord to grant the entire family the much needed strength to continue on, and to rejoice on the beautiful memories they have of you. Truly hope each member of the family gets a smile on their face when they think of you and remember a special moment they'll forever treasure...

Papa Nino was one of the best grandfathers anyone could ask for! He had shown his grandchildren and great grandchildren so much love, and always was there for you when you needed him. I'm so grateful to have had him in my life all these years. He was such a powerful man of God, with such wisdom and I still remember how much he'd pray with and for my kids and I without hesitation. Papa Nino, you were the best and I love and miss you so much!! I know I'll see you again, and we'll rejoice in the presence of The Almighty together one day!
