Obituary

We are profoundly heartbroken to announce the passing of our beautiful boy, Benjamin Delaney Thomas-Larocque. Benjamin was an accomplished young man, having received the rank of Eagle Scout (of the Boy Scouts of America). Ben received both a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology and a Bachelors of Science degree in Forensics from Florida Gulf Coast University. He was actively employed as a Communications Officer II with the Lee County Sheriff’s office. Benjamin’s intellect was matched only by his kind heart, and we miss his calm nature and sharp humor with the very core of our beings.

A memorial service is planned at Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort Myers (http://www.uucfm.org/) for Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 4 pm. A gathering to celebrate all that was uniquely Benjamin will follow. All who knew and loved Benjamin and his family are welcome to join his family, Lisanne Thomas, Stéphane Larocque, Analiese Thomas-Larocque.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations in Benjamin’s memory be made to the National Suicide Hotline.

We are irrevocably broken. Rest well, sweet young man. September 22,1994 – April 11, 2019

I knew Ben in middle school and high school being in the same academic classes as well as orchestra in school and as an extra circular activity. He was an intelligent and well spoken person that I always remember was the fastest reader with a pure love of books. He was a top student and had incredible wit. He will be missed dearly and my sincerest sympathy to his family. He will always be remember for being so smart, kind, and a fantastic cello player. Rest In Peace, Ben!
