Obituary
Bentley “Ben” Arthur Thompson, age 84, passed away on April 9th, 2023, in Longwood, FL at Island Lake Center.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Maudrilla Thompson, and his children: Andre Rishi of California, Sean Thompson of Florida, RianMonique Thompson Treffery of Florida, and Brandon Thompson of California. Also surviving him are sisters Alice Pillay of Florida and Clemencia Rivers of New York. He is preceded in death by his parents and four other siblings.
Bentley was born on August 22nd, 1938, to parents Clement and Monica Thompson of Rose Hill, Laventille, in the beautiful Caribbean island The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. He migrated to New York City in the 1960s, went to school and became an Electrician, and met his wife of forty-nine years. He spent the majority of his career as an Electrician with Muzak LLC in New York City , retiring in 1988 and moving to Central Florida with his family.
Bentley was an avid sports enthusiast, and enjoyed raising birds, gardening, dancing, and playing card games, dominos, and chess. Bentley had a sharp mind, and those who knew him best will remember him as a passionate individual who was always eager to engage in stimulating conversation.
A funeral is scheduled for Bentley on Monday, April 24th, 2023, at Northland Church, 522 Dog Track Rd, Longwood, FL 32750, with a 10am viewing and an 11am service, with a reception to follow at 1505 Hobson Street, Longwood, FL 32750. All are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
An interment will take place on April 25th at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.The family would like to thank all for their prayers, thoughts, and support. Flowers can be sent to Northland Church in Longwood.
