On May 11, 2013, Bernard D. (Dan) Gallagher, 75, passed away in Port Orange, FL following a long illness. He was born in Washington DC to Bernard A. and Mary M. Gallagher, but moved as a child to Elyria, OH where he attended Catholic schools. He joined the USAF in 1955 and retired in 1975 at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. He married Olivia (Libby) Pitt in 1976 in Portsmouth, VA. They moved to Port Orange, FL in 1977. Dan graduated from DBCC with an AS degree. He worked at a variety of jobs prior to his retirement. Dan loved his family, classic Rock, playing poker, and exploring Native American culture. He especially enjoyed the trips he made to the American West and attending Powwows. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Bernie and Mary Gallagher. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Libby, and son, Sean, Port Orange, FI; his brother, Jim Gallagher, and sister, Kathy (Glenn) Burnett, Elyria, OH, and sister, Betty Ward, Lorain, OH plus a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and, a brother in spirit, Bear Brown, as well as friends he made over the last 36 yrs .. There will be no public service, but anyone who wishes to honor his memory may make a donation to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
