Obituary

Beryl A. Wilson, Jr., passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the AdventHealth Hospital in Ocala, Florida.​  Born in Parkersburg, WV, on May 18, 1946, he was the eldest son of the late Beryl and Virginia Hart Wilson.  Often called Junior, he was a 1964 graduate of Sistersville High School.  

Beryl married Linda Louise Stanley on December 9, 1967 and they made their home in Reedsville, Ohio for 29 years, and in The Villages, Florida for 21 years.  

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1966-to-1970 and was assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga which deployed to the Mediterranean Sea three times.  He retired after 30 years from American Electric Power as an Operations Control Room Supervisor at the Mountaineer Power Plant, New Haven, WV.

He was a member of: Masonic Lodge #363, Middleport, Ohio; Ohio Valley Commandery #24, Middleport, Ohio; Royal Arch Masons of Ohio #80, Pomeroy, Ohio; Bosworth Council #46,Pomeroy, Ohio; and The American Legion, Post #347, Lady Lake, Florida.  Junior was an avid NASCAR fan and also enjoyed camping, boating, and hunting.

Beryl is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Stanley Wilson; two sons, Todd (Beth) Wilson of Danville, Ohio, and Aaron (Tamara) Wilson of Logan, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Casey Wilson, Tyler Wilson, Allison Kiefer, Grant Kiefer, Ashton Wilson, Savanna Wilson, Chelsea Ball, Wesley Ball, Sydney Ridenour, and Justin Ridenour; three great grandchildren, Alexander and Grant Nichols and Ethel Ball; brother Mike (Mary Ann) Wilson of Long Bottom, Ohio, and a very special brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Carol Ice of Little River, SC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Bernard and Hilda Stanley, daughter Jaime Wilson Ridenour, and brother Gerald R. Wilson.

Arrangements will be handled by Myers Funeral Home in Sistersville, WV at a later date.
