Obituary
Bette Josephine Cucanich was born on June 13th 1945 in Kissimmee, Florida to William T. Sammons and Jessie M. Sammons. Bette graduated from Osceola High School in 1963. Bette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and was soon to be a great grandmother. She lived in New Smyrna Beach for several years with her husband Jack Cucanich before moving to Clermont. Bette was a hard worker and business owner. Bette was the matriarch of her family; she loved hard and always leant a helping hand to those in need. Her inspiring presence will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of meeting her. We will all miss the joy, love and generosity that she brought into our lives and we couldn’t be more proud of her.
Bette was laid to rest peacefully at home on Thursday February 11th 2016. Bette is survived by her husband, Jack Cucanich, her children: David Thompson, Bear Thompson and April Kelly. Bette is also survived by her grandchildren: Ashley Kelley, Josh Thompson, Eli Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Kristen Kelly, Jodie Kelly and her great grandchild, Brynlee Thompson that will be born later this year. Bette is also survived by her sisters: Connie Morgan, Joyce Andres, Jayne Sammons, Leda Sack and Rachel Courtney and her daughter in law, Faith Thompson, her son in law, Kenny Kelly and her grandson in law, Adam Kelley.
Memorial Services will be held at Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place, 1 North Causeway New Smyrna Beach, Florida 32169 on Saturday February 20th 2016 at 11:00a.m. Graveside service will follow the funeral service at the Edgewater Cemetery located at 700 S Ridgewood Ave, Edgewater, FL 32132.
