Obituary
Betty Jean Chubbuck Jakubisyn, 74, died peacefully November 19, 2021 after a short illness. Betty was born April 3rd, 1947 in Lincoln, Maine. She was predeceased by her mother, Elde Aileen Porter Chubbuck and father, Orman Chubbuck. Betty is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ronald Jakubisyn. She is also survived by her children Donna Knoll and her fiancé Scott Beal, JoAnn Clark and her husband Todd McGee, and Ronald Jakubisyn, Jr and his partner Jason McRae as well as her 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Betty had a very generous and loving nature; she was proud to have been a member of the military family being married to a United States Navy Veteran. Betty was an amazing woman who gained several well-deserved names throughout her life. To some she was Mom. To all the grandkids and great grandkids, she was called Mom-mom. A few special people in her life knew her as Miss Betty. And of course, Gertie, but that was a special name she shared with her always loving husband. She was a life-long forever fan of Elvis, who she adored. Everybody that knew her at all knew she was also the biggest fan of Betty Boop you could find, her house filled with different trinkets from over the years. She so enjoyed living on her houseboat at Manatee Cove Marina at Patrick AFB and always volunteered at special events held there along with her great friends Charlie & Dory. She was always helping to collect and deliver donations to a local veteran’s group. We’re asking that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to www.downtheroadthrift.org, a non-profit charity that benefits veterans and their families. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:30am on January 21st at Cape Canaveral Veterans Cemetery in Mims Florida, all are welcome.
