Obituary

Betty “Boop” Primosch died surrounded by family and while holding the hand of her husband of 51 years on September 4, 2019 following a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Betty was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend and more to many, many people and will be greatly missed and remembered.

Betty was born on August 5, 19?? (she did not like revealing her age!) in Brooklyn, New York to parents Ada and Sol Ausfresser. She and her big brother Larry Austin spent a happy childhood in Brooklyn before each found their way to raising their own families on Long Island, New York.

Betty spent the majority of her career working in the travel industry, managing a corporate office for Austin Travel. Her true joy and passion however, was her family. She was a loving mom and wife. She was selfless in every way when it came to family. Her example as a mom is reflected in what became the next joys of her life – her three beautiful grandchildren whom she could never get enough of.

Betty was a loyal friend and always fun to be around. During her and Richard’s retirement years in The Villages, you could often find her dancing, bowling, volunteering at Sumter Place, playing with dogs, or turning strangers into new friends.

Betty is survived by her husband, Richard; daughter, Suzi; son, Jeremy; daughter-in-law, Jamie; and grandchildren, Matthew, Sophia & Sol.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Laurel Manor Recreation Center in The Villages, on September 14 at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or to an Alzheimer’s support group that provided great support to Betty and Richard as they coped with the disease: My Time for Free Time; Hope Lutheran Church; 250 Avenida Los Angelos; The Villages, FL 32162 (checks to be made out to Hope Lutheran Church with the memo reading “My Time for Free Time”.

Betty Boop was such a special lady. She had such a great laugh and joy for life that was contagious. I loved our time on the tennis court, shopping trips, lunches. Our dinners out with Richard and Joe. I never had a problem getting Joe out if he knew Betty was going to be there. Betty loved talking about her family especially her grandchildren. What a wonderful legacy she leaves behind.
