Obituary

Blanca Elba Rodriguez, 80 of Deltona died peacefully Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at home with her family by her side.  Blanca was born February 26, 1939 in Ciales, Puerto Rico to the late Esequiel and Juana Colon-Gonzalez.  She married the love of her life, Luis Alberto Rodriguez and they settled in Bronx, NY to raise their family.  Blanca and Luis moved to Florida in April 2002.  Blanca enjoyed playing Bingo, Bunco, Quarters, Right-Left-Center and the NY Yankees.  She is survived by her loving husband, Luis;  three devoted children, Joseph, Robert and Vilmarie Rodriguez; seven cherished grandchildren; two adored great grandchildren and her siblings, Gloria Vega and Israel Gonzalez.  A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-6PM, Friday, May 17, 2019 at Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place, 1 N Causeway, New Smyrna Beach.

    There are no words to truly capture the void I feel. You were an amazing mother, you were always there for me. I know I sometimes drove you crazy, but I needed to do things my own way. You taught me never to follow anyone and follow my own instincts which will never fail me. You were right mom in so many things. I am grateful God allowed me the honor to be able to be there in your last moments and to know that you knew I was there. We all were, Dad, Joe, Rob and our families. I am at peace with your passing knowing that you are no longer suffering. I will forever miss you and will carry your memory with me until we meet again. Love you always Mom, Vilmie.

    Our dear Mom, you will be forever missed and well remembered especially on the celebrated occasions will never be the same without you. The visits you made to our home in Virginia were priceless to the very end. The lessons you taught me growing up will always be in stilled in our children as well, the memories we shared together as Mother and Son, family and even with the kindness and love you showed my wife made it all too special and we will keep you in our hearts always. May God bless you and may your Rest in Peace. We love you always.
