Obituary

Bobby “Bob” Wayne Perry, age 85, passed away at Hospice House, Tavares, FL, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, after succumbing to cancer.

The son of the late Dailey Perry and Rebecca Groves, was raised in Cunningham, TN. He wed the love of his life, Fern Morgan, in 1972 and went on to have two daughters, Amy and Andrea Perry.

After graduating from Montgomery Central High School, Bob was a lifelong businessman, a Manufacturers’ representative, and owner of Bob Perry and Associates in Nashville, TN.

Among his many hobbies and passions, he enjoyed golfing which according to his voicemail ‘he was on the putting green’, fishing, coaching basketball and softball, and NASCAR.

Bob was a lifelong Christian, a man of faith.

Bob made many friends in his lifetime and his compassion to help others was not limited to his circle. To know Bob was to love him. He was unfailing, positive, and cared deeply for others.

Bob was predeceased by his father, Daily (Christine) Perry, mother, Rebecca (Kenneth) Rowland. He is survived by his wife, Fern; children: Amy and Andrea Perry; and brother Ray (Lia) Rowland. His grandson, Chase Osborne. His nephew, Tony (Angela) Roda.

He was fondly known as “Uncle Bob” to his nieces and nephews. Uncle Bob was known as quite the prankster. He also held a special bond with his in-laws, especially the late Rosa “Rosie” Morgan, his mother-in-law. After Bob jokingly complained about not enough vanilla wafers in his banana pudding, Rosie added coconut in her next batch for some payback.

A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Ryes Chapel United Methodist Church, Southside, TN. Visitation will start at 2:00PM, service at 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Ryes Chapel Cemetery, 224 Gray’s Chapel Rd, Cunningham, TN 37052.

I will miss Bob always, I enjoyed Bob's company on and off the golf course. We shared many laughs together. Bob was a real fighter and put up a valiant battle before succumbing. I'm so sorry for Fern, Amy, Andrea and Chase as they will especially miss Bob. I pray for the family to have the fortitude to deal with their loss

I worked with Bob’s wife for over 20 years. Bob was always a lot of laughs and a wonderful dad and husband to Fern. I always wanted to meet his neighbor Darrel Waltrip and did finally. Rest in peace Bob and condolences to you Fern and family. May your memories of the good times help you heal. ❤️

I am so saddened by this loss. I had the privilege of caring for Bob over a year ago in the hospital, he was so sweet, funny, and had so much love for his family. After caring for him I was approached by Andrea who was working as a nurse and informed me that was her dad. Ever since then I have loved Andrea so much, she is so hard working and loves her family so much. May Bob rest in peace.
