Bobby “Bob” Joe Goldie, 70, passed away on Friday May 15th, 2020 in Tavares after an unexpected stay at Advent Health Waterman. He was the partner of Kathleen “Kathy” Watters of Leesburg. They cared for each other deeply for almost ten years, and Kathy was present with Bob in his final hours. Kathy continues to support Bob after his death by being present to his family in their grief.

Born in Minneapolis, MN, he was the son of single mother, Ruth Goldie, and looked to his uncle, Joe, as a father figure. In high school he enjoyed football and entertaining on stage.

In 1980, Bob married Sharon Blanton of Oklahoma City, OK. Sharon had 4 adult children from a previous marriage, and together, they had one daughter, Alisa. Though Bob and Sharon later divorced, the two remained lifelong friends who loved and respected each other. They talked regularly for almost 40 years.

Beginning in 1983, Bob worked for Jetta Products Inc., in Edmond, OK. He was proud to serve the company in several capacities over the years, and eventually moved to work in the Wildwood, FL plant until his retirement.

Bob will always be remembered by others as a ‘grumpy old man’; but to those who truly know him, it is his charm, his rotation of terrible “dad jokes”, and his loyalty and unconditional love that truly stand out.

He is survived by his partner Kathy, his daughter Alisa (Jeff) Kissel of Evansville, Indiana; Ex-wife and friend Sharon Goldie of Evansville, IN; four Step-Children: Ray (Cathy) Blanton of Oktaha, OK; Ron (Lisa) Blanton of Dallas, TX; Teri Blanton of Oklahoma City, OK; Yancy Phillips of Oklahoma City, Ok; Grandchildren: Grant and Blake Kissel of Evansville, IN; and several Step-Grand and Great Grandchildren.

Bob was predeceased by his beloved mother Ruth Goldie and Uncle Joe Goldie of Minneapolis, MN.

In accordance with his wishes, Bob’s healthy eye tissue will be donated, providing sight to someone who may otherwise go blind. No services will be held as it was Bob’s wish that his estate be used for others rather than himself.
