Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Bonnie Cobb Garland born  August 25, 1937 in Flat Lick Kentucky announce her passing. She passed peacefully in her sleep on September 6, 2017 in New Smyrna Beach Florida. She was married to James Oscar Garland and is survived by her children:  Bonnie, James, Robin, Thomas, and Leon, and her grandchildren James, Katy, Ashley, Hayley, Carissa, Alicia, Skye, Allan, Matthew, Jenna, Christian, Ivy, Olivia and Zoe.

Her loyalty devotion and love for her family was immeasurable. She was an expert seamstress and created award winning quilts one of which commemorated her oldest son’s career in the Air Force. Bonnie was quick to find the joy and wonder in all of God’s creation and let no holiday go by without celebration.

Though she will be missed we know that she is now with our Lord and she will live in our hearts forever.

    Sis,
I remember the day I asked my Brother Jim to take me to Lee and Goldie's house so he would meet you and ask you to go to the movies with us. Look what I started! I cherish the times we had together and always came to see you. After all you were my brothers Princess who he loved with all his heart. I know the two of you are now at peace with Sister. You will be forever in our hearts. Rest in peace in the arms of our Lord.

My aunt Bonnie will hold a special place in my heart. She loved children, I remember many summers visiting Aunt Bonnie and her family in Algonac. My sisters and I would stay a week and always felt right at home. Her laugh always a wonderful laugh especially when she would get together with her siblings. Such great family memories. Aunt Bonnie, love you.
