Obituary
Brent David Syverson, 61, of New Smyrna Beach passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Born in Boise, Idaho, to parents Melroy and Janice Syverson. He moved with his family to Titusville, FL in 1963. The family moved again to Umatilla, FL in 1972 to run the Western Auto Store in town. Brent lettered in baseball and graduated from Umatilla High School. Go Bulldogs!! He graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science – Professional Aeronautics with a Minor in Aviation Safety. Brent started as a technician working on and testing the Space Shuttle Orbiter. He continued at the Space Center as a Safety Engineer and Mechanical Engineer team member working space projects involving NASA , the International Space Station, Delta IV launches and the Artemis Mission to the moon.
Brent loved the water and the beach life. He also enjoyed college sports especially his FSU Seminoles and UCF Knights. He loved the Miami Dolphins.
He was predeceased by his father Melroy Syverson. Survivors include mother Jan Syverson; two sons Logan Syverson, his fiancée, Michaela Mendoza; Jacob Syverson; two brothers Tim (Cheri) Syverson: Terry (Marieanne) Syverson; girlfriend Mickie Renshaw and a host of nephews.
Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society of New Smyrna Beach was entrusted with arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date to be determined.
