Obituary
As the youngest of three children, Brian was born December 17, 1958, in Harrisburg, Pa. to Norma Jane Burd (née Gerringer) and Samuel Carl Burd. Brian never married but dedicated his life to his family and friends. Whether celebration or crisis, Brian was always available to lend a helping hand or provide unending support and companionship.
An avid gardener sporting a brilliant green thumb, Brian could typically be seen in his Edgewater greenhouse or at Lowe’s Garden Center where he worked. However, should his beloved Penn State Nittany Lions be playing, Brian was glued to the 50-yard line of his big screen TV.
Brian (AKA “B” or Babba) is survived by two sisters, Carla B. Collins of Edgewater, FL and Elaine B. Field of Horsham, PA.; brother-in-law Kris Field of Horsham, PA.; two nieces, Tara Collins of Verona, NJ. and Radha Collins of Fern Park, FL.; three nephews, Alex Field of Virginia Beach, VA., Matt Field of Skippack, PA. and Dan Field of North Wales, PA.; and his adored puppy, Libby. Brian will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A service will be held on Sunday, February 5 at 12:15 in the Lighthouse Worship Center, 190 Wallace Road, New Smyrna Beach, FL. A Celebration of Life will also be held during the Spring in Newport, PA where he spent his youth.
A nature lover at heart, Brian’s wish was that, instead of flowers, donations be made to Blue Spring State Park and the saving of the manatee at https://friendsofbluespringstatepark.org
