Obituary

Brian K. Rohde, age 62 of Gibsonton, Florida passed away August 9th, 2024.

On November 25th, 1961 in Niagara Falls, New York, Brian Kevin Rohde was born to the late Richard Jr. and Judy (DeTamble) Rohde.  He graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1979 with interests including reading, theater & arts, and computer technology. Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Air Force on October 17th, 1980 and served an exceptional 21 years. In 2007, Brian met his soulmate Stephanie Jo (McClintic) Rohde and cherished 17 years together before being called home to heaven.

Brian’s Air Force career took him to many places. His journey started as a Jet Engine Mechanic at Edwards Air Force Base, California. After four years, Brian cross-trained to pursue his avid interest in computers, landing him a new assignment at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. While rising through the ranks and honing his technical expertise, Staff Sergeant Rohde volunteered to become an electronics instructor and was reassigned to Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi around 1991. Between 1993 and his retirement in 2001, Technical Sergeant Rohde secured two associate degrees while performing duties at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, Robins Air Force Base Georgia, Prince Sultan Air Base Saudi Arabia, and two tours in Osan, Korea completing his time in the Air Force as a Senior Non-Commisioned Officer in the rank of Master Sergeant.

As a saved man with mission, he continued service after leaving the uniform while employed at Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station as an IT Support Specialist and supporting his prior local church, Wilson First Baptist. After relocating to Florida, Brian’s purpose continued with CAE USA as an IT Asset & Licensing Administrator in addition to furthering his fellowship with his current church, Alafia Baptist.

Brian and Stephanie shared many passions with the most influential being their love for Disney. Residing in Florida meant they were close enough to visit often and they utilized that opportunity everytime they could. They would share this with many friends and family and would ultimately become a place of retreat while building new memories.

Brian is survived by his wife Stephanie Rohde, Daughters Ashlee (Joshua) Baerga, Jennifer (Zachary) Love; and Sons Andrew Rohde, Justin (Courtney) Rohde; Grandchildren Joshua Jr, Ava, Jeremy, Charlotte; Sister Candice (Jeffrey) Begley; Stepfather Norman Ault; his Maternal Aunt Donna (Calvin) Hockenberry and several nieces, nephew, and cousins. Brian was one of my best friends in high school. So many good memories and laughs. We were even stationed together for a short time in the Air Force. I always looked forward to seeing him whenever the opportunity presented itself. There is a hole in my life knowing Brian isn't with us but smile knowing he is with god. RIP brother. I will see you again. Prayers and condolences to his family and loved ones.

I only knew Brian for a short time compared to his full life. He knew Jesus and through Him is how I met Brian. Brian had a huge caring heart. He cherished his family, especially his wife Stephanie. Brian spoke so highly and cared deeply, a marriage that was truly one with Jesus at the center. I will miss his random check ins and wishing me luck on the various things I had going on in life. He is a very special soul and I am honored to have been his friend.

A special and dear friend. He is with Jesus. How we talked about Jesus together, and now he is in His presence! Life is a vapor - and many walked him home through his earthly journey - especially dear Stephanie and Candace. God bless you both, and all who knew him. I pray everyone who reads this knows the gospel and will see Brian again - as he waits with Jesus.
