Obituary

Bronko Pavichevich, 73, of Fort Myers passed into His Savior’s arms on September 28, 2021.
Bronko was born on November 8, 1947 to Bill and Zora Pavichevich in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Bowen High School of Chicago and then served his country for four years in the Air Force in Thailand. He met his beloved bride, Jessica Cruz, in Colorado and they were married April 19, 1970. Bronko taught Jessica about love, of loving people and later led her to love Jesus. They had 51 blessed years together and two sons, Ryan and Jason, and adopted granddaughter Mariah.
After moving from Chicago to Fort Myers in 1971, Bronko was hired as a salesman for Al’s Appliances where retired veterans took him under their wings passing on customers to him and sharing their S & H Green stamps for Bronko and Jessica to furnish their starter home. Bill Branch Chevrolet was Bronko’s next sales position where he became their south region’s top salesman for cars and trucks. Bronko was next hired by the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for 39 years retiring in 2013. Because he missed the customer interaction after a short stint of retirement, he was employed at Storage King USA in their postal department. He was freely able to pass out tracts and led several people to the Lord providing follow-up with the returning customers who loved talking with him.
Bronko was always known for his smiles, laughter, generous heart, and warm hugs. When a co-worker, mechanic at Bill Branch Chevrolet invited Bronko to attend First Baptist Church in Cape Coral he was introduced to the salvation message and accepted Jesus as his Savior. He was an active member of McGregor Baptist Church and one of his passions was sharing about his relationship with Jesus to everyone he met and being very outspoken in his witness. His favorite pastime was watching the Chicago Bulls, Blackhawks and White Sox games. In his early years he enjoyed playing on the church basketball team and was on a post office bowling team. In recent years he enjoyed playing cards with friends weekly.
Bronko is predeceased by his parents and survived by his wife, Jessica; his sister, Dessie McEnerney and brother, Ken Pavichevich, his sons Ryan and Jason and his grandchildren, Marissa, Shawna, Jared and Mariah.
A celebration of Bronko’s life will be held Saturday, November 6th at 2:00 at McGregor Baptist Church with a reception following in the Hope Building, Rooms 186-187. Pastor Ronny Jones will officiate with special guest speakers Rev. James Holbrook and Rev. Israel Suarez. Streamlining of the service will be available at https://vimeo.com/635467798/6ec31182ae. A military recognition service will be held at Sarasota Veterans Memorial Garden on Monday, November 8th at 10:00.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made in honor of Bronko to the McGregor Baptist Church Food Pantry or the Nations Association.
