Obituary
Bruce Kierland Hansen, 82, of Lecanto, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife, Rosemary, and their children. Born on May 28, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to John and Edith Hansen, Bruce lived a life filled with hard work, adventure, and devotion to his family.
For 42 years, Bruce worked as a dedicated Chicago journeyman plumber, embodying the spirit of “work hard, play hard.” He found joy in hunting, fishing, traveling, and boating. Some of his fondest memories were made with family at their Lake house on Lake Koshkonong in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, before retiring to Florida in 2019.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rosemary, and their three children: Karin Gotta (James), Christopher Hansen (Agnieszka), and Lynne Bisgrove (Jaime). He was a loving grandfather to six grandchildren: Matthew Gotta (Ariel), Kathryn Brady (Paul), Kierland, Coleman, Ostin, and Campbell.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date for close friends and family to honor Bruce’s memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bruce’s name to Vitas Hospice House or the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
