Obituary

Bruce Joseph Clark, 82, of Ormond Beach, Florida, formerly of Lewiston, Maine, passed away peacefully Friday, January 5, surrounded by his family.

He was born November 29, 1935, the son of Margaret Healy Clark and George Clark. He attended schools in Lewiston and was a letterman athlete, playing football, basketball, and baseball. In 1954, Bruce graduated from Lewiston High School and thereafter enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Giesen, Germany.

Bruce returned to Lewiston and for four decades built a career in the furniture business from salesman to part-owner of Marcotte Furniture World. In the early 60’s he served as an alderman in Lewiston for Ward Two. Bruce was a life long member of Lewiston Elks Lodge.

He will always be remembered for the enjoyment he had with his family in the backyard of 17 Roy Street. Treasured summers of swimming, grilling, Red Sox games on the radio, lobsters and clams and Bruce’s favorite, native corn. Bruce loved laughter, a good joke, hermit cookies, sitting on his recliner in the breezeway and watching the Boston Celtics or New York Giants.

He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Anita Dion Clark, and his loving children Rhonda Saucier and her husband Herbert of Lewiston, ME, Stephen Clark and his wife Kathleen of Jacksonville FL, and Cathy Comeau and husband Pierre of Old Orchard Beach, ME.

Cherished grandchildren; Jeffrey and Andrew Saucier, Ashley Sidman and Matthew Clark and Maria and Natalie Comeau.

Great-grandchildren: Cole and Miles Saucier, Ava Sidman, Elliot and Maxwell Saucier.

Predeceased by great-grandchild Jackson, brothers George and Bernard Clark and sisters Esther O’Connell and Mary Clark.

A special thank you to all the staff of Emory Bennett VA home and Halifax Hospice for the exceptional care given to Bruce. A memorial service will be held in Maine in the Spring. Family request no flowers.  Please make charitable contributions to Alzheimers Association (act.alz.org/donate
