Byron Lee Jenkins of Cape Coral, Florida met with his Father in Heaven on the evening of May 9, 2023. He was born in Ypsilanti Michigan, June 29, 1934, to school teacher parents, an only child.

He grew up and attended Ypsilanti Schools. Army life followed with training as an MP and boxing on the side with Golden Gloves.
Eastern Michigan and Wayne State Universities followed, where he attained training to become an ASCP tested Clinical Pathologist. Additional clinicals were attained at Grace Hospital in Detroit, MI. He was a Masters Degree recipient.
Byron liked physical fitness, lifting weights, playing tennis, loved bowling. Later in life he refinished furniture and even extensively built furniture out of rare woods, mainly black walnut for a time.

In his last year Byron was a resident of Rehabilitation and Health Care Center of Cape Coral, where his life came to a close at age 88
He is preceded in death by his parents Mattie Bowen Jenkins and Marion Jenkins, wife Adrienne. Also grandson Chris Tietje of New Mexico. He is survived by daughters Kim Brown of Martinez, Georgia, and Tamara Bennett (Ervin) of Grants, New Mexico; grandson Timothy Brown (Ryan) of Harlem GA, Bethany Widener of Cape Coral, Alyssa Eby (Alan) of Marion TX.
Great grandchildren, Sean Dodds and Waylon Brown in GA; Liam, Emy and Karlee Eby in TX, Peighton Widener in Washington State.
Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in Cape Coral handled final arrangements. A private memorial is planned.
