C. Martin Adams passed away at the age of 82 in Ocala, Florida. Martin was born February 20, 1941, to Kate and Ralph Adams at Garfield Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC. He grew up in Washington, DC and worked summers on the family tobacco farm in Southern Maryland. He graduated from Surrattsville High School in 1959. He met his wife Helen “Bunny” Thompson Adams at the age of 20 at Bell phone company. They were married September 15, 1961, at St. Barnabas Church in Oxen Hill, MD. Martin retired in 1996 from the Defense Intelligence Agency after 34 years as an editor and graphic artist. He was a patriot who was proud of the part he played during the Vietnam War and Cold War.

Martin was a car enthusiast and was a particular fan of the Pontiac Fiero. He was especially proud of his 1988 Formula which is still in the family with less than 5,000 miles. He enjoyed participating in car rally events in his 1986 Fiero. Martin combined his interest in photography and traveling his entire life. He took a memorable trip to Alaska with his brother Dutch. He also took many family camping trips including a cross country trip to Yellowstone and going to the 1982 World’s Fair in Knoxville, TN. During his 27 years of retirement Martin enjoyed taking bus trips with Helen seeing great sites such as Niagara Falls, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas Strip, Biltmore Estate, and Greenbriar Resort.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents Kate and Ralph and his beloved dogs Ricky and Teddy.

He is survived by his wife Helen. His 3 Sons Andy (Heather), Paul, and Stephen (Christie). His brother Dutch Adams. And his 6 grandchildren Brock and Brody (Andy and Heather); Alex, Zach, Chad, and Casey (Paul).

An online memorial service will be announced soon. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be given to American Diabetes Association (diabetes.org).
