Obituary
Candace Alayne McRae of Apopka, FL, passed away peacefully at Advent Health Hospice on August 28th, 2023, at 4:07 pm, at the age of 51 years, with her husband by her side. Candy was born in Key West on July 13, 1972, to Patricia and Richard McRae. In 1989, she met Jerry while spending the night over at her dear friend Laura’s house in Orlando, and eight years later, on May 13th, 1997, they were married. Candace was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She greatly enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren, taking them on various adventures to parks, springs, and events across Central Florida when she was able to. Candy had a warm and caring personality, opening her home and utilizing time she didn’t spend with her grandkids to help others in her area with finding resources or sending her husband with their vehicle to transport items to those in need. Candy is survived by her loving husband, Jerry A Rogers II; her mother, Patricia D McRae; her stepfather, William R Battin; her brother, Patrick R McRae; her aunts and uncles; her seven children; and her ten grandchildren. She is preceded by her father, Richard W McRae Jr, and her grandparents. She was a beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, niece, grandmother, granddaughter, and friend. She will be deeply and forever missed by all who knew her. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on September 6th at Woodlawn Memorial Park 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd, Gotha, FL 34734
