Obituary
Carl Erich Irps of Cape Coral, FL, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021, in Ft. Myers, FL. He was 77 years old. He was born on November 29, 1943, in Elgin, Illinois, to the late Carl Adolph Herman Irps and Elaine (Henning) Irps. Later in life, Carl would meet Judy Ellis, the love of his life. They were married on May 9, 1964, in Elgin, Illinois.
Carl was a member of the Elgin Turners for 59 years. He was also a member of the American Turners Organization, and together with Judy, had a cottage at Illinois Turner Camp for over 40 years.
In earlier years, Carl would enjoy snowmobiling. He absolutely loved to go walking. He enjoyed being in nature and had a love for flowers. He loved watching NASCAR, drinking beer and was a lover of sports. He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.
During his working life, he was a Fox Valley Fire & Safety employee from 1974 to 1986. He sold commercial cooking systems until 1980 when he crossed over and started installing them. In 1986, Carl transitioned to Protex Installations where he continued to install systems until his retirement in the early 2000’s.
Carl will be lovingly remembered by Judy, his best friend and wife of 57 years; daughter, Heidi (Ryan) Jones; son, Erich (Susan) Irps; grandchildren, Reilly and Kayla Jones (children of Heidi and Ryan) and Bailey, Justin Irps and Steve Prantalos (children of Erich and Susan); sister, Karen (Don) Pelletier; and sister Patricia Irps.
