Obituary
Carl James Woodward, 88, May 4, 1932-March 1, 2021. Loving husband to Elizabeth Chaplin Woodward (Lisa), passed away peacefully in The Villages, FL surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, five children, and eight grandchildren. Born in Detroit, MI, Carl served in the U.S. Army in Korea achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. He had a 60-year career as an independent insurance adjuster working hurricanes, fires, and earthquakes. Carl was an accomplished honky-tonk pianist and played regularly at The Villages Regional Hospital. He had a passion for flying and served for many years in the Civil Air Patrol in Raleigh, NC. A celebration of life will take place at St. George Episcopal Church later this spring followed by a private service at the Florida National Cemetery (Bushnell).
