Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carl Donald McGuire. Don, as his friends and family called him, was born in Hamersville, Ohio. He learned a strong work ethic and family values from his parents growing up and working on the farmlands of Ohio with his three brothers and sister.

Don was a veteran of the US Army and descends from a long list of McGuires who served their country dating back to the Revolutionary War. During his time in the military, He met and married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Glossip on June 29, 1957, and to that union were born Keith and Diane McGuire.

Don spent thirty-five years building a wonderful career at Fisher Body in Marion, Indiana. He was a well-respected supervisor and made many long-lasting friendships that carried over into his retirement years in Nokomis, Florida.

He loved fishing, hunting, and golfing all throughout his life, but more than anything, he will be best remembered for his humor, his positive outlook on life, and his love of friends and family.

Due to his recent health issues, Don and Pat moved to Winter Park, Florida to be closer to their family. He is survived by one Brother, Robert (Doris) McGuire, Hamiton, Ohio. His wife, Paticia McGuire. His Son, Keith (Bobby-Jo) McGuire, His Daughter, Diane (Dean) Hill. His Grandchildren, Kelly McGuire, Courtney (Cameron) Clark, Kaitlyn McGuire, Carly (Aaron) Hollowell, Kara McGuire, Mitchell (Elizabeth) McCarthy, and Allie McGuire. His Great Grandchildren, Koda Clark and Ophelia Hollowell.

Family service will be private. In lieu of flowers and arrangements, the family would appreciate donations made to the Alzheimer’s Association in remembrance of Don.

Some of the best memories of my fun dad was skiing and boating every weekend in the summers in Indiana. He taught me how to ski at 7 yrs old and I think I surprised him when I got up on the first try. Thanks dad for showing me how to work hard and also enjoy life by playing just as hard. Snowmobiling, motorcycling, boating, hunting pheasant, relationships, finances, fishing with the grandchildren and so much more. You left a legacy and we are so very grateful for it.
