Obituary

Carmela Nettuno, 60, passed away on November 12, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in New York and most recently residing in Ocala, Florida, Carmela lived a life defined by her huge heart, kindness, devotion, strength, and unwavering love for those she cherished most.

Carmela’s greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother. She lived for her children and grandchildren, celebrating every milestone and holding each of them close. Her warmth, generosity, and fierce love created a home where everyone felt welcome. She especially loved the beach, where she found peace in the sound of the waves and the time spent with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, David McNamer; her daughter, Nicole Taylor; her son, David Oquendo; her mother, Carmela Nettuno; her brother, Joseph Nettuno. And her grandchildren, Destiny and Bentley Taylor, and Claire and Levi Kinzel, and Noah and Sean Creekmore .

Carmela’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her love, strength, and compassion leave a legacy that will never be forgotten

My heart goes out to all who knew Carmela, especially her family. My favorite memory of her is at an homeowners party. She knew everyone in the room and still wouldn’t leave her purse behind to go get something to eat. She always had a big smile and treats for Reggie when we walked by. My thoughts are with the family.
