Obituary
Carol J. (Clarke) Burns, 80, of Ormond Beach passed away February 19, 2025. Daughter of the late Howard and Elizabeth Clarke, Carol was born in Tampa Florida but spent many years in New York state and Ohio.
A competitive dressage rider in her youth, Carol met and married the love of her life, the late Edward Burns, as a teenager. They enjoyed 44 years together as life and business partners, running a successful motorcycle parts business before moving to Ormond Beach. Carol then worked for several years at JCPenney, finally retiring after the loss of Ed.
Carol and Ed also had a daughter, Kelly Mornhinweg, who survives them both and remains their most precious collaboration.
Carol is also survived by 5 beloved grandchildren: Justin (Tammy), Zoe (Devin), Aidan, Conlan and Sterling Mornhinweg all born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. A sister Cathy (Rich) Behrmann, nephews Rich (Vicki) and Ryan Behrmann, all of Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Grand Villa assisted living and her Halifax Health Hospice caregivers who made her last years and final hours comfortable and peaceful.
Blessed with natural grace and beauty, Carol touched many lives and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.

I will never forget your friendship and our talks
I will miss you so much
You were always there for me no matter what .We met so many years ago it seems like yesterday through Kelly. You were my neighbor my friend. I wish I had more time with you. I always regret this. My time with you was short when you lived in Dayton Ohio. But it will last me forever. I wish I could have known your grandchildren they grew up to be wonderful like you
A favorite photo, memorializing Carol, Ed and daughter Kelly. The best part of this image is that the sweet baby in the photo, is the lovely woman holding the image! She’s remembered and loved by Kelly.
