Obituary

Carol Ann Cornelius (Leonard), 76, of Leesburg, FL passed away October 25, 2019.  She was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 20, 1943 to William and Grace Leonard.  Carol was a fun loving beautiful soul, caring and kind with a great laugh, warm smile who loved her family deeply.  She worked at Lakeside Alternatives for 25 years and enjoyed traveling, dancing, karaoke, theater, cards, bingo and kazoos.  Carol was a member of AM Vets, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church  and St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church.  She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Robert; daughters, Laurie Goloversic (Joseph) of Clermont, FL and Melissa Jones (Dax) also of Clermont, FL; granddaughter, Lynsey Hazzard of Clermont, FL; brother, Robert Leonard Tobyhanna, PA and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Joan McGowan and brother William Leonard.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 16th 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 720 12th Street Clermont, FL 34711.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the National Kidney Foundation.  Arrangements by Baldwin Brothers Funerals & Cremations 1350 E.     While growing up I always admired and looked up to Carol and is such a joy to my heart from visiting the family living in Brooklyn to family celebrations in New Jersey (Thanksgiving) and multitudes of family milestones. Remembering her smile, her laugh, her gentleness, quick wit, and was such a caring soul and will be sorely missed ! Rest in peace Precious Lady!

    Carol was my cousin but I always thought of her more as a sister. She was someone who always smiled and welcomed you with open arms and heart whenever she saw you. I have many joy-filled and loving memories of Carol over the years. She will be so greatly missed but these memories will keep her alive in both my heart and mind always.

    Carol was my cousin but she was more like a sister to me. She was always a joy to be with and I will always remember the good times and the laughs we shared. I will miss her with all my heart but her memory will always be with me.

    Carol was very special woman. She could always lift your spirits just by her joyous nature. You were guaranteed fun with Carol. Ed has fond memories of her from his childhood. I have lovely memories of her from the beginning of my marriage to Ed. She will be forever dear to us. We will miss her terribly.

    Fond memories of holidays and vacations in Oak Hill.Carol always made time to see/stay with us when she traveled north. I always admired her gentle ways when we were kids and her sharp wit as adults. Although there was distance between us, I always felt a close relationship with her and the girls. I will miss her dearly.
