Obituary

Carol Ann Schumm, age 69, died with family by her side on December 31, 2014 in Orlando, FL. Born March 25, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA, she raised her children in Wilmington, DE before moving to Lewes, DE to enjoy the sun, sand and water. Juggling family and work, she held an ecclectic array of jobs including bartender, car salesman, interior decorator, meter maid and Cape May Lewes Ferry retail manager. She was a loving, caring mother and friend. She retired to Bradenton Beach, Florida in 2008 in search of more sun and warmer waters. At her request, no service will be held. She is survived by her sister, four children and six grandchildren who will all miss her deeply.

We are very sorry for the loss of your Mom.
Carol was a very thoughtful, kind, strong independent Lady!
The greatest joy in her life were her children and grandchildren whom she loved DEARLY.
My fondest memories of Carol was spending time with her in the pool, wether at the gym of the apartment complex as she loved being in the water!
We truly miss her as a friend of the family and we send our love

    Kim, Pam, Randy and Cindy,
I miss doing your mothers hair after she left to the warmer weather. As we had many conversations while sitting in my chair. I thought of her as a very dear friend, I will miss her very much. She always had good things to say about her children and how much she loved all of you.
She will and has always been in my thoughts.

I knew Carol in Leeds, went to same gym & for coffee at Surf Bagel, as well as monthly luncheons. I also adopted her cat when she moved. We lost touch when she went to Florida but she'll be missed! Carol was a special lady - she always made me laugh!
