She was an active member of Stetson Baptist Church for over 43 years where she was involved in a variety of ministries, including outreach, evangelism, teaching in Sunday School, disaster relief, Vacation Bible School, Hearts of Gold, and prison ministry. Carol enjoyed gardening and sharing her flowers with others. She also enjoyed time with her family, especially when spent at the beach or watching the Florida State Seminoles play.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Claude; their three children, Daniel Wayne Thompson (Erica) of Yorktown, Virginia; JulieAnn Thompson Feezor (Don) of Warner Robins, Georgia; and Timothy John Thompson (Helen) of Bainbridge, Georgia; brothers, Roger Nissly (Betsy), Barry Nissly (Kathy), and Andy Nissly (Lisa), and 9 grandchildren, Timothy, John, Joshua, Abigail, Noah, Claire, Wesley, Annabelle, and Oliva, as well as several nieces and nephews.
