Obituary

Carol Jeanne (Bennett) White aged 78 passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 1, 2023, following a brief illness. Carol was born in Elmira, NY on August 19, 1944, to Richard J and Barbara J Bennett. She lived most of her life in Ft. Myers, Florida.

Carol loved plants and animals and regularly rescued both. She believed in brownie sundaes for dinner and crunched on ice like a fiend. She enjoyed retirement in the peaceful North Florida woods. She built meaningful friendships in her community and took great pleasure in volunteering at South Putnam Christian Service Center. She was funny and loving and had the greatest light in her ice blue eyes.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert L. Carlton Sr. and her son Robert L. Carlton Jr.

She is survived by her husband Leslie R. White, her brother Richard J Bennett Jr, her daughters Cynthia Lynn (Thomas) Loudermilk and Tammy Sue (Kevin) Compton and stepdaughter Michelle White. Grandchildren Jacob Pinion, Baron (Gabrielle) Compton, Patricia Compton, Magenta Compton, Victoria Compton, Johnathan Compton, Savannah Compton and Charlee Joy Compton, Krystal (Jake) McLean, Breana (Nic) Meister and Shelby (Daniel) Fowler. Her Great Grandchildren Enzo Santiago, Wyatt McLean, Kip McLean, Kimber Meister, Kash Meister and Kora Meister. Nephew Richard J Bennett III. Nieces Susie (Perry) Prescott, Jodi (Bob) Franceschini and Lynn (Anthony) Spatola.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday Aug 26, 2023, at 11 am at Georgetown Methodist Church, 1448 Co Rd 309, Georgetown, FL 32139. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Carol’s honor to South Putnam Christian Service Center at 301 Cypress Ave, Crescent City, FL 32112.
