Obituary
Early Monday morning June 27, 2022 Catherine Louise (Snyder) Hertzler passed away peacefully in her sleep after 11 years with cancer.
Cathy was born in St. Louis, Missouri to George Edward and Barbara Louise Snyder (Watson) on December 31, 1963. She graduated from Lindbergh High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southwest Missouri State University. After college she married Jerry Hertzler in 1988, and they soon joined Cru, formerly Campus Crusade for Christ, with whom she remained a staff member until her passing. Her time with Cru moved them to Orlando, Florida where she raised Andrew and Audrey. From 2003-2006 the family moved to Budapest, Hungary where she taught at the International Christian School of Budapest specializing in helping kids with learning disabilities. After moving back to Orlando she became an active member of Christ Kingdom Church and helped with other administration work at Cru. Her sweet smile and cheerful personality blessed everyone who knew her. She loved word puzzles, crafts, cooking, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, Friends (TV show), Christmas and music from her working days in college at Music Vision. During her years of cancer treatments she displayed serenity and peace, and her faith in Jesus became stronger with each passing year. She is preceded in death by her parents and survived by step mother, Linda Snyder (Grable), her husband, Jerry Hertzler, children, Andrew Hertzler and Audrey Heath, brother, Tom Snyder and sister, Kristen Landwehr.There will be a memorial service in Orlando on July 2 at 2:00 pm at University Presbyterian Church, 2562 Rouse Rd, Orlando, FL 32817. There will also be another memorial service in St. Louis on July 9 at 2:00 pm at Chesterfield Community Church, 14647 Ladue Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017. Reception following.
