Catherine R. Hill, age 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2020. She was born on July 20, 1942 in Blue Ridge, Texas to Woodrow and Vera Davis. After High School she traveled the country and finally settled back in Texas where she was a dedicated and loyal employee of Halliburton for 25 years. Catherine loved to work, it kept her feeling young, so much that even in retirement she went on to become a real estate broker in Florida. She always enjoyed meeting and helping people.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, sister Vivian Dotson, and husband Rocky Hill.

She is survived by Karen, Norm, and Branden Duke (daughter, son-in-law, grandson); Gene and Sylvia Davis, Kenneth and Glynda Davis (brothers and sisters-in-law), Gene Dotson (brother-in-law) and many special nieces and nephews.

Catherine enjoyed the simple things in life like reading a good book, gardening, and traveling. One of her best memories was a trip she took to London with her sister Vivian. She was an avid basketball and Professional Bowling fan and thoroughly enjoyed watching her son-in-law bowl. But the thing Catherine was most passionate about was spending time with her grandson, nieces, and nephews. They were the light of “Aunt Ruth’s” life. She will be missed by all.

At this time there will be no formal services.  Aunt Ruth would love for the family to gather and share memories of her and Aunt Vivian.
