Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the loss of our beloved mother, Charlene R. Lee. She is preceded in death by her husband and love of her life James D. Lee, her mother Anita Lane Kaiser, brother William Cox, and sister Mittie Goodnight., grandson Danny Boback and daughters in love Victoria Nichols and Christy Lee. Charlene leaves her children Debi Boback and husband Jim Boback, Diann Lee, James D. Lee II and Star McLaughlin, Donald L. Lee, and Sally Schreur Lee, Charlene Marie Goodnight, Mike Nichols and wife Cindy Nichols, her grandchildren; Joseph Bradley Hodges, Elise Hodges, Steven Boback, James D. Lee, III, Austin Lee, Ryan Nichols, Brandon Lee, Jessica and JR Arnold, Amanda and Philip White, greatgrandchildren; Thomas and Ruby Arnold, Landon and Jackson White and Kinsley Hodges.

Charlene was a strong determined and dedicated woman, with a heart of gold. She was dedicated to her Catholic faith and always a fervent believer in the value of Catholic education. Charlene retired from service as the Day Care Director at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic school after more that 20 years. She was a thoughtful neighbor and friend to her life community at Villa Francisco, making cookies for each resident’s birthday, hosting tea parties and holiday dinners for everyone. Charlene enjoyed making a difference in the life of others with acts of kindness and support. She relished in the expansion of her family and valued family connection above all. Charlene loved various crafts over the years, and shared a particular attraction to making ceramics, making Christmas ornaments for her children and grandchildren, easter plates and even a chess set for her son who loved the game, just like his father. Charlene will be remembered for her strong electric personality, her tenderhearted nature and strong faith in God. She leaves so many with thoughtful loving moments from her heart that will be cherished and thought of fondly in her absence.

Please join us as we celebrate her life at a Memorial Mass, on July 2nd. at 1pm at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, with reception immediately following in the parish hall, at 5632 Sunrise Drive, Ft. Myers, FL 33919.
