Obituary

Charles Chester Buck (Bud), age 87, went home to be with the Lord on October 28, 2021. Bud’s Christian faith was an essential part of his life.

Born in Akron, Ohio, he lived in Akron and Brimfield most of his life. He spent the past 19 years between Ohio and North Fort Myers, Florida. He met the love of his life when he was 16 years old and she was 14 years old. They were a love story that most would dream of having, and were just weeks shy of reaching 70 years of a beautiful marriage. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber working in the Printing Department. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and took great pride in the circle of love his family has for one another. He enjoyed years of golfing every Sunday afternoon with his 3 sons and numerous friends. He enjoyed making woodworking projects for his children and grandchildren; from swings, picnic tables, playhouses, toy boxes, and even baby cribs. He enjoyed meeting new people, and anywhere he went he created new friends along the way. There was always laughter that surrounded him.

Proceeded in death by his parents; and his sister, Mae Griffin. Charles is survived by his wife of 69 years, Shirley Ann that he referred to her as “his lovely bride”; 5 children, Charlie (Donna) Buck, Charlene McKinley, Scott (Pam) Buck, Larry (Cindy) Buck, and Lynn (Mike) Dimoff; 16 grandchildren, Colleen (Eddie) Merrill, Sean (Carmen) Buck, Jodie (John) Tompkins, Shannon (Adam) Campbell, Samantha (Josh) Wolfe, Tiffani Buck, Matthew (Marie) Buck, Alex (Addy) Buck, Rachel Buck, Brittany Buck, Nathan Dimoff, Casie Dimoff, Abby Dimoff, Skylar Dimoff, Angela Pucci, and Dena Pucci; 20 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and precious friends.

A celebration of his life will be determined at a later date.

How lucky can I be to have had Dad Bud for my Father-in-Law? Even after my marriage was over he remained a constant in my life & he & Mom Shirley welcomed my new husband into their family with open arms. I so appreciate the wonderful, decent, kind & caring man that he was. Like the Bruce Springsteen song says: “I’ll see you in my dreams - for death is not the end. Love to all of my Buck family.

Bud was a second grandpa to me growing up. I have so many fond memories of playing at their house with Sean and Shannon. The house was always filled with laughter, delicious food and lots of love. Grandpa Buck leaves behind an amazing legacy and he will be missed. Sending lots of love to Shirley and the whole family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Buck family at this time. Bud was always so kind to me as a child, and I loved spending summers swimming at the pool and later seeing him around the holidays. He will be dearly missed.
