Obituary
Charles Coster Fowkes, 92, passed away peacefully at home, into the gentle hands of Jesus on June 29, 2022.
Charles is survived by his wife, Rosita and children, Carolyn Sue Miller and Jamera Degamo.
Charles is also survived by his four nieces, Joann Garvin, Jane McCormack, Georgia Miller and Susan Skinner as well as two nephews, George “Bo” Green and Rob Green.
Charles served in the US Army during the Korean War and worked with the Department of Defense’s Military Auxiliary Radio System (MARS). After a career as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service, Charles earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida. He taught at Manatee High School and Coached the girls soccer team.
Charles was certified by the Florida Amateur Radio Tech Society and loved to talk to his friends through the radio. He also enjoyed taking care of his canaries and his Chihuahua, Chi Chi.
As a believer in the Resurrection of life, Charles believed that God was his personal Savior though eternity. He faithfully listened to Bible studies and completed 400 hours a week.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for his family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 11am to 12noon at the Colonial Baptist Church, 2616 51st Street Bradenton Florida.
His sparkling wit and great personality will be missed by all.
