Obituary

Charles W. Levine, age 88, passed away on January 1, 2021 in Ormond Beach. He was born November 25, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY to Alexander and Ethel (Cantor) Levine.

After a distinguished career as professional musician and educator in the NYC area, he retired to Seville, FL in 1976 where he established a successful business growing decorative fern and floral greens. His passion for music, teaching and animals was surpassed only by his love for his family.

He is survived by his wife, Judith (Olsen) Levine and four children, Linda Levine, Daniel (Sara) Levine, Melody (Michael) Potash and Jonathan Levine. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Noah (Rachel), Eliana, Hannah, Zoey and Boaz. Funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to any charity for the benefit of animals.

Charlie was not only a great musician, but a patient teacher. When he helped us out in orchestra pits in Volusia/Flagler, we knew he was grossly overqualified but he loved music, enjoyed being around younger musicians, and put up with our sloppiness at times. His sense of humor, war stories and experience made him a hit with newer pit members. Seville had a hidden treasure in its midst !
