It is with great sadness that the family of Jack McCarthy announce his passing on December 29, 2018 at the age of 71. Jack will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sallie, of 47 years, his sons and daughters-in-law, CJ and Dawn, Michael and Leslie, and Kevin and Kristi. He loved being Papa to Jack, Samantha, Kailey, Morgan, Mason and Ryan. Jack is also survived by his brother Dennis Broedlin and his wife Ellen, sister Kathleen McCarthy, 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Jack moved to The Villages in 2012 from Milford, Connecticut where he and Sallie lived for 39 years. He was a business analyst at ADP until his retirement in 2009. He was an internal optimist when it came to his sports teams, cheering on the New York Jets and Mets. Jack loved to golf, recording a hole in one in 2017, bowling, traveling with Sallie and was an active member of The Villages CIC organization. Mary and I knew and enjoyed Jack's company on the golf course and playing buco for the past 5 years. If Mary did no show up for golf with the guys on Mondays, Jack would always say where's Mary today.
For the past couple of years I played with Jack on the Championship Courses. As Jack was teeing off, we would comment, there goes Mr Automatic. His tee shot would usually land in the middle of the fairway.
Mary and I will miss Jack and we pray for comfort for Sally and their Family.

I had the good fortune of knowing Jack for close to seven years, playing golf with him at least three times a week always marveling at his wonderful golf swing and deadly accuracy. I was lucky enough to have been playing with him when he got his hole in one at Mangrove’s seventh hole. I also witnessed a shot he made on the Heron course where he hit an errant first shot off the tee and then on the second try holed out for a birdie. I think I speak for all of the fourteen golfers he played with on a regular basis that he is and will be deeply missed. He always had kind words to say about everyone and was a perfect gentleman. He was quick to talk about the pride he had in his family and their accomplishments. To his family Sharron and I offer our deepest condolences.

Jack was a great friend and will be sincerely missed by myself, all of his golf buddies, friends and family. Our enjoyable time together was filled with laughter, golfing, chatting about sports, social time, travel and how proud he was of his family. Best wishes go out to all family and friends.
