Obituary

Charles Tolini, aged 83, passed away on April 25, 2024, in his home in Bradenton, Florida surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born on January 24, 1941 in Dorchester, Massachusetts to Romeo and Eva Tolini. His wife, daughters, grandkids and extended family are profoundly saddened by the loss of this strong, gentle, giving, and talented man. Charles grew up in Dorchester and has wonderful memories of his childhood summers in Gloucester, Massachusetts, which inspired his love of the sea, boats, and fishing. Charles went to Northeastern University, as part of the ROTC program, where he studied electrical engineering. He met the love of his life Ania Zoladkowski at Di/An Controls and they were married for 59 years. Charles was a proud veteran and served as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. Charles spent much of his career working for Iris Graphics, which pioneered the introduction of inkjet printing to the U.S. Charles and Ania gave birth to their first daughter Suzanne while stationed in Stuttgart, Germany.  Their children Michelle and Annette followed and they spent most of their childhood in Wilmington, Massachusetts.  Charles built a home on Cape Cod and the whole family has fond memories of the many years in the Harwichport house eating “Chuckie waffles.” They eventually settled in Florida in later life and every home they ever lived in was filled with Charles’s handiwork and masterful carpentry. He loved reading, playing cards, and working with his hands. He spent countless hours building boat models, making homemade ravioli, and baking delicious apple pies. His quiet presence and devotion to his family will be sorely missed, and his daughters could not have asked for a more generous and loving father. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his eight grandchildren, all of whom adored him.

He is survived by his wife Ania, his daughters and their husbands Suzanne and Ron Parisi, Michelle Tolini Finamore and Daniel Finamore, and Annette and Stephen Hung and his grandchildren Allie Wertz, Grace, Lucas and Charlie Nealon, Gabrielle and Hannah Parisi, and Oliver and Madeleine Finamore. He was the brother of Edward and Richard Tolini and his deceased sister Mary Lou Bertoni.
