    Dearest dad
My other message was short it was too painful
To write anymore. Everywhere I look are reminders
Of you. Your absence leaves such a void.
You were a wonderful, patient father with
Frances and myself. We miss your laughter,
Your stories and those beautiful blues eyes
That mirrored the gentle soul within. You are
In my heart forever and ever. Love, Charlotte

My Father-in-law was a very special person! His knowledge of the community was matchless. He was an absolute fountain of information. He was a story teller without peer. He was a great family man and it is important to emphasize that his wife Peggy and his family and friends meant so much to him.

I can just imagine the scene at the Pearly gates as Charlie regales St. Peter with a history, fishing or hunting story. I am sure St. Peter opened the gates for Charlie and encouraged hime to enter.

    Dear Peggy, Charlotte and Frances,

Charlie and the three of you are such a part of my childhood memories and now with Charlie gone, there is a piece missing. He was such a man, so full of life and he filled a room when he entered it. His booming voice and laughter will be with me always. He lived life to the fullest! I know how much he will be missed by the three of you and many friends and family. We girls were lucky to have our daddies for as long as we did and are so very lucky to still have our mamas!

You were the best Dad. No doubt about that. We will take care of mom as I told you. I will miss our "adventures" in the Parent Trap every Saturday with you riding shotgun. I love you and miss you deeply but, know you are catching some great fish. Always your daughter with mega love, Punky

Uncle Charlie was the best story teller. He was walking talking history...( he sounded like Tennessee Ernie Ford to us). The fishing trips with Uncle Charlie and all the fishing buddies Uncle Bones, Rocky, Kent and the boys Mark, Matt and Mike were always extra special. We will miss him deeply. Please know our love and prayers are with you all.
