Obituary
Charlotte Korenz-Hamas Roaderick, 80, of Ocala, passed away August 27, 2021, following a brief illness. She was born on May 18, 1941, in Akron, Ohio, to Anthony and Constance Korenz. She was married for 34 years to Paul Hamas, who died in 1996. On Dec. 4, 1999, she married Brent P. Roaderick in Tarpon Springs, Fla. Additional survivors include sons Anthony Hamas and Scott Hamas of Nashville, Tenn.; sister Rosalie Korenz Miceli (Jerome), Orlando, Fla.; brother-in-law Brian Roaderick (Pat), Ocala; granddaughters Jenna Hamas and Bailey Hamas, Tampa, Fla.; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Charlotte lived in in the Tampa Bay area and Ocala for 22 years. Since 2016, she resided with her husband, Brent, in the Stone Creek retirement community in southwest Ocala. She was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and served in hospital ministry at Ocala Regional Medical Center. She was an avid participant of Stone Creek water aerobics and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. Charlotte is remembered as a loving wife and an affectionate mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She was a devoted member of the Catholic faith and her favorite Bible quote was “And surely, I am with you always to the very end of age.” (Mathew 28:20).
A celebration of Charlotte’s life will be observed with a memorial Mass at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 17, at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 5 SE 17th Street, Ocala. Masks during the Mass are recommended but are optional. The service will also be live-streamed at BlessedTrinity.org. Interment of the ashes will occur at a later date in Palm Harbor, Fla.
