I graduated from high school with Cherie and she was certainly one of the kindest people you'd ever meet. I remember my first day of college, Fall of 1996, feeling lost on a new campus, hoping to find a familiar face. That first familiar face was Cherie. We would see each other once a week in campus that first semester.

Since we both stayed in the area for some time, I'd see her around. She was always happy and had a way to make us all smile.

It's very sad that she was not well for some time, and very tragic to hear of her passing, but I carry many good memories of her. Rest in peace, Cherie. Thank you for being a friend.
