Cherna Schwartz, 71, passed from this earth on Monday, December 6, 2010 after a brave battle with cancer.
A New Smyrna Beach resident for over 23 years, Mrs. Schwartz and her husband Stanley previously resided in Vermont and Long Island, New York. Mrs. Schwartz pursued a variety of interests over the course of her life including travel, attending musical and theater performances, gardening, painting, pottery and photography as well as he weekly mah jongg game. During her life she was a Justice of the Peace, a proprietor of an antique shop, and a volunteer for organizations such as Harris House, Atlantic Center for the Arts, Little Theater and Coronado Primary School. Cherna was a member of Hadassah, Temple Israel Sisterhood, the Jewish of Volusia Flagler, Women in Lifelong Learning and Sea Woods Red Hat Society.
She will be remembered as a kind, generous and loving wife, mother and friend. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Stanley Schwartz. Cherna is survived by her son Robert, daughter Ellen, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her cat Percy also misses her tremendously.
A Life Celebration will be held in her honor at a later date by the family.
