In Loving memory of Chester Ray Rugg, a devoted Husband, loving father, cherished grandfather and beloved brother, passed peacefully and suddenly on February 28, 2025 at 61 years of age. Ray was born on September 22, 1963 in Troy, Alabama to Chester Beck & Nell Rugg. A hard working and skilled heavy equipment operator, Ray dedicated any and all of his time to being able to provide for his family. He developed the ability to fix anything that was brought his way. His pastimes were “tinkering” around the house or going for an early morning ride on his Motorcycle with his best-friend Mark. Ray enjoyed nothing more than being with his family and friends. His personality and caring heart allowed people to gravitate to him. Ray lived his life to the fullest, allowing him to leave this Earth knowing his friends and family will carry on his legacy.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents Chester Beck & Nell Rugg. He is survived by his caring and devoted wife of 33 years, Tami, his children Rebecca Pina (Carlos), Brittany Rugg, Deena Langley (Ryan) & Brandy Coker (Frank), his 9 grandchildren, Landen, Tyler, Katelyn, Payton, Grace, Melayna, Hunter, Leo & Jackson, sisters Sue Ethridge, Brenda Glover, Jean Layfield (Lynn) & Samantha Vick (Robert), brother Albert “Rusty” Rugg (Theresa) along with a multitude of friends. Though he is no longer with us, his love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Ray will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his hard working spirit, and the warmth he brought to those around him.
