Obituary
Christopher Kazimierz Andrews, born March 4, 1931 in Klementowice, Poland left this world on August 31, 2022 at the age of 91 in the comfort of his home in Edgewater, Florida, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Maxine Andrews. Chris is survived by his children Debbie (Rick) Waggy, Michael (Mary) Andrews, Patrick Andrews, and Christopher Andrews, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Chris was a lover of the seas; he joined the Merchant Marines at the age of 16 in Poland. Once the ship docked in New York City, he decided the United States is where he wanted to call home. He made his way to Key West, Florida where he began working on a shrimp boat. Wanting to become a citizen, Chris joined the Army and served from 1951-1955. He fought in the Korean War, where he was wounded in the Battle of Pork Chop Hill and later awarded the Purple Heart. He worked for the United States Postal Service until he retired in 1987. Chris and his wife enjoyed retirement near the ocean in Edgewater, Florida. He loved spending time on his sailboat, fishing, reading anything that pertained to any time period in history, cooking, listening to classical music, and visiting with his family.
A small military service will be held with family members at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at a later date.
