Obituary
Christine (Chrissy) DesJarlais-Lueth, 78 of Bokeelia, Florida formally of Chepachet, Rhode Island passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024.
Chrissy was born in North Providence, Rhode Island to the late Henry L. DesJarlais, Sr. and the late Mary Jane (Latour) DesJarlais on June 23, 1945. Chrissy was preceded in death by her sister, Marianna Lato, as well as her brother, Jay DesJarlais. She is survived by her nieces, Alicia (Lato) Bailey and Michelle (Lato) Liston, and nephew J.R. DesJarlais. She was stepmother to Jacqueline Lueth Myers of Tennessee and the late Michael Lueth.
She was married to the late Ronald Lueth. Both she and Ron were avid Golden Retriever owners; raising, training, and rescuing several of their beloved dogs. In 2003 she published a children’s book paying homage to her first golden retriever called “Take Her Back: An Andy-Bear Tale.”
She was a graduate of Salve Regina University and earned a doctorate in University Library Administration from the University of Illinois. She retired from the University of Connecticut Library as head of collection development. Her dissertation “Brown University and Academic Library History” has been cited in several research publications.
