Obituary

Christine Lois Zeidler (76) of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away on March 29, 2024, after a long illness. Chris was born in Fall River, MA on August 8, 1947, to Harry and Rhoda Schwarzentraub. She was later formally adopted by her stepfather Benjamin Boothroyd of Fall River. She graduated from Durfee High School in Fall River and worked as a data entry specialist in variety of jobs for a number of companies in Texas, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Colorado before retiring from American Family Insurance in 2012.

Chris liked to dance in her younger days and enjoyed disco music and watching Hallmark movies. She was involved with sewing and other crafts and created many beautiful quilts. She was a proud member of The Sassy Stitchers and Racing Fingers craft groups. Her infectious smile could light up a room and her sunny disposition could lift almost anyone’s mood.

Chris was part of two large families. As the second oldest grandchild in the Spence family, Chris has the dubious pleasure of babysitting many of her younger cousins. She may have been the most patient person in the family.

Chris is survived by her husband of 38 years Ronald Zeidler of Ormond Beach, FL. On the Spence/Boothroyd side she is survived by her sisters Grace Boothroyd of Bellows Falls, VT, and Ruth Pacheco of Paragould, AR, nephew Joel Boutin of Milford, NH, nephew Matthew Pacheco of Spring Hill, TN. grandnephew Desi Pacheco of Paragould, AR and fifteen first cousins. On the Schwartzentraub side she is survived by Dorothy Ruby of Sandusky, MI, Denise (Gary) Sullivan of Port Huron, MI, Donna (Rox) Krause of Bridgeport, MI, Doris (Randy) Ridley of Croswell, MI, brothers Arthur (Soon) Schwarzentraub of California City, CA, Gary (Penny) Schwarzentraub of Lexington, MI, and Mark (Norlinda) Schwarzentraub of Jacksonville, NC, brother-in-law Lenny Boutin and sister-in-law Donna Boothroyd.

Chris was predeceased by her brother Benjamin, mother and step-father Rhoda and Benjamin Boothroyd of Fall River, MA, father and step-mother Harry and Betty Schwarzentraub of Croswell, MI. She was beloved by all.

Chris I wish we would have been able to spend more time with you. But one day we will meet again and have a great conversation. As you know Mom(Betty) likes to talk and I am sure she welcomed you with open arms. Love your sister Denise

Chris, I remember how we would skip Sunday School together. Of course, being older, it was your idea, but Ken and I did not take much convincing! Of course, we made sure to reenter the church to say our goodbyes to Rev. Thomas, who knew what we were up to! How often we giggled during the church service, sometimes with Grandma Spence joining in! How I looked up to you! I am so glad we got to reconnect when you moved to Florida. Your spirit and light will live on in the hearts of all who loved you.

I always looked up to my cousin Chris. When attending the First P.M. church, she would often convince my brother and me to skip Sunday School to go across the street to the variety store and hang out. (It didn’t take much!) We would reenter the church in time to say our goodbyes to Reverend Thomas (he knew what we were up to!). I remember us giggling during the church service, sometimes along with Grandma Spence!!!! I am so glad I got to reconnect with her when she moved to Florida…her spirit and laughter hadn’t changed!!!! We will miss you, Chris
Ron, our hearts remain with you.
    Love, Susie, Tom, and Krys
